Post Realm Championships Sponsorship Change
Tomy and Zapped Giants have stepped in to fund and organise next week's Realms Championship event.

The event will still go ahead as planned, in the same venue. The venue will be provided by Tomy, and the event will be in no way linked to Upper Deck Entertainment.

The TCG tournament will still go ahead as advertised. It will be open to all players, not just those who qualified for Realms.

The minis event will still go ahead as advertised.

The prizes will not be as advertised, as they were the responsibility of Upper Deck, who have pulled out of the event completely. Upper Deck's statement is as follows :

-

It is with regret that Upper Deck International announces the cancellation of the World of Warcraft Realm Championships. The decision was taken today to not to run the events, which were due to take place on the 20th and 21st March 2010.

Up until today we had been working very hard to ensure that the events went ahead as planned, but unfortunately this has not been possible. We understand that this news is a disappointment for all affected players, and would like to assure you that it is not a decision we have taken lightly. We had to make this decision right now to allow those affected time to cancel any travel arrangements

Upper Deck International would like to thank you for qualifying for this event, and for your continued support of the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game. As a token of our appreciation, we would like to send all qualified players a parting reward.

To claim your reward, please send an email titled ‘Realm Championship Qualified’ containing your name, UDI number, address and telephone number to questions@upperdeck.com.

Once again we would like to thank you for your support and extend our apologies for the inconvenience this has caused.

Guys, there will still be an event at the venue on that date. I'm putting something together right now and I'll post details as I sort things!

Come along, turn up, play some cards, have fun. If you're all good boys and girls there might even be prizes :-P

Ah, alright.

I was about to say that if the venue was ours and Rob wasn't going to run anything, I would. It'd cost money, but I would run it, since many players already had hotels booked.

Give me a prize pool, a room, and players, and I will give you all an event.

Unless said prize pool contains Tigers, in which case I will give you an opponent.

I'm of two minds now. I'd just booked off a day or two's holiday so I could recover and still have a weekend after Minis....

I suppose I could pack a casual deck and head along for the hell of it in case no minis takes place...

Edit: With Jimmy offering to sponsor minis and me having already booked the time off.....might as well head to MK and have some fun, I suppose!

I am still very intrested and will attend anything that is going ahead. I am a also very very hopeful i will be able to redeem my crafted cards still. That alone is more than enouigh motivation i need to attend. I am collection freak id but gutted to be missing the cards (esp as ive bought / traded crafting material cards).
But anyway i look foward to more detailas about a zapped giants event and will promote it heavily in my play group and local store.
